AIPHS Boys Volleyball Is One Win Away From A Historic Playoff Berth

After defeating rival Oakland Charter 3-2 in an epic volleyball match-up, the AIPHS Golden Eagles Volleyball Team (6-4) enters tonight’s Senior Night and regular-season finale in a must-win against scenario against the the LPS Richmond Pumas. With a win, the Golden Eagles will earn their first ever playoff berth in the CIF Oakland Section Playoffs, an impressive fete considering the second year of the AIPHS sports program. Tonight’s match-up will take place at the Soldiertown Gym, in Oakland, CA at 5PM, and the AIPHS senior night ceremony will take place after the game.

The AIPHS Swim Team Looks to Build Upon Last Year’s Success In the CIF-Oakland Section Championship

During the 2018-2019 AIPHS S.E.A. Eagles pulled off an improbable upset by placing second and third in the CIF Oakland Section Boys and Girls Championships, respectively. This year, S.E.A. Team Two will look to build upon last year’s success with an expanded roster and a crop of new swimming stars. Today’s championship will take place at the Laney Community College Swimming Pool, at 3PM.

Gia Shine Named MaxPreps / United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week

The AIMS Athletic Department would like to congratulate Sophomore Forward Gia Shine on being named the MaxPreps / United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week for the week of April 8-14. To date, Gia has been on an impressive tare by scoring as much as 7 goals in two games, including a 5 goal career high performance against Envision Academy. With this award, Gia joins senior Vanessa Rivas and AIPHS graduate and Sports Wall of Fame Inductee Paola Barron as the third player in AIPHS’s history to earn the MaxPreps / United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week Award.
