We are pleased to announce the official launch of aimsathletics.com, the official sports website of American Indian Model Schools!
aimsathletics.com will house both AIMS Middle School and High School Sports programs, provide seasonal sports schedules, and up to date sports related news. aimsathletics.com will also serve as the primary source for all AIMS related athletic forms and compliance information.
Although known academically as a premier charter school system in the Bay Area, in 2016, American Indian Model Schools (AIMS) became a proud member of the Oakland Athletic League’s (OAL) Middle School Division. In its first year of competition, AIMS sports teams established itself as one of the up and coming schools in the league by winning a league and individual championship, and finishing with 2nd place and elite eight advances.
This year, American Indian Public High School (AIPHS) joined the Bay Area Charter School Athletic Conference (BACSAC), with a pending membership in the CIF – Oakland Section. Under the direction of AIPHS Dean of Students and Athletic Director Maurice Williams, AIPHS will field five sports in its inaugural season in BACSAC.
While AIMS athletic programs will allow our students the opportunity to engage in friendly competition among some of the most athletically gifted students in the entire Bay Area, AIMS remains committed to ensuring that our scholar-athletes uphold our model as a “college first” institution.
To wit, AIMS athletic participation standards are among the most challenging in the nation, as all middle school students are required to maintain a 3.2 GPA, and high school students a 3.0 GPA when participating in sports. Additionally, at the high school level, the first hour after school is an academically mandated team study hall.
Our commitment to academic and competitive excellence, and integrity through sportsmanship are the hallmarks of a model AIMS athlete.
