Coaching Staff

Our coaches offer years of coaching and sport related experience and a range in the diversity in related backgrounds. We are proud to offer our student-athletes the best in leadership, and wholeheartedly believe in our coaches’ ability to help develop well rounded student-athletes.

COACH JARD DAVIS / AIPHS cross country

Mr. Davis has been coaching musicians and music ensembles for the past twenty years and for the past two years he has used these skills to coach cross country.  Founder of the AIMS Golden Eagles Cross Country Team, Coach Davis led the Boys’ middle school team as they won the Oakland Athletic League City Championship during their inaugural season in 2016.  The Girls’ Golden Eagles also achieved great success after winning second place in the league during this season.  Coach Davis loves cross country because it is a sport that affords no excuses.  He believes that running is one of the purest ways to confront and overcome adversity.

When he is not coaching, Mr. Davis embraces an active lifestyle and enjoys honing his skills in his other passions: climbing and ski mountaineering.  On rock he has climbed faces like the Nose on El Capitan and the Northwest Face of Half Dome.  On ice and snow he has climbed routes on Mont Blanc and summited Peru’s 19,511 foot Alpamayo via the technical French Direct Route.  On skis Mr. Davis has climbed to and skied from the summits of many mountains including Mt. Rainier, Mt. Shasta, and Mt. Whitney.  When he is relaxing, Mr. Davis can be found roasting coffee, practicing the culinary arts, or classical guitar.
